Install the NovaView databases with names other than the default

What if you want to install NovaView but already have an existing installation which has the databases installed on your DB server or you just want to change the names of the NovaView databeses from the default

You can define names for databases using the Setup file for NovaView (let's call it setup.exe for the example) parameters like this:

 

run the setup.exe from the cmd line utility as an admin of the machine

 

setup.exe /v"NVDBNAME=Pan25 DASHBOARDDB=PanDa CGSERVICEDB=GCDB CGSERVICEDB2=GCDB2 ADMINDB=AdminDb"

 

The default values for the NovaView databases are

NVDBNAME=Panorama

DASHBOARDDB=PanoramaDashboard

CGSERVICEDB=PanoramaCubeGeneratorDB

CGSERVICEDB2=PanoramaCubeGeneratorIntegrationDB

ADMINDB=PanoramaAdminDB

 

Note: When using this method to change the DB names, you should edit the Panorama.Cube.Service.exe.config, located under C:\Program Files\Panorama\E-BI\Cube Service\.......and update the file with specified DB names.
