In some cases when trying to connect to Panorama server using Web browser for Web Access or Dashboard, user can see red X in top-left corner of the window. Also, in the status bar, "Loading Java Applet Failed..." message appears.

Alternative description: The Sun Java log includes the error "Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: panorama.novaview.UI.class" or similar

Possible causes:

1. Old or unsupported Java Virtual Machine. Such versions should be removed in Add/Remove Programs or disabled like shown below.

2. More than one version of Sun Java installed on the client.

1. Make sure you are using compatible Sun Java version. The list of compatible version located here.

2. Clear browsers cache and cookies as well as Sun Java temporary files as described here.

In Java console in the Control Panel make sure all old versions like 1.6_07 are unchecked in Java application Runtime Settings 

3. Make sure only one type of Java selected to be chosen by the browser:

• 5.0 and higher
