In Novaview 6 SP1 we are introducing a new setting in the Dashboard to allow you as the administrator to decide which type of JVM should be used for the organization in the Dashboard. This setting should be alighned with general server Java selection described here

For years NovaView had an auto-detection mechanism which used to detect the default JVM on the client side and run the relevant technology accordingly.

 

Since MS JVM is not supported (end of life December 2007) and because Microsoft J# is not very popular, starting from NovaView 6.2 there is no auto-detection mechanism and the default technology NovaView will use is Sun Java.

 

The other technologies are still supported and the administrator of the system can decide and switch to either MS JVM or MS J# if necessary. The only limitation is that the technology has to be the same for all the client machines – the configuration is done on the server and (unless customized further) is the same for all users. 

Configuring Java technology in NovaView Dashboard

In the NovaView Dashboard administrator go to Settings -> Server -> Advanced -> Java Virtual Machine and choose the desired JVM as shown on the following screenshot. Click OK and you are ready to go.
